Chi, China

I lived with my brother and sister-in-law. When I first came to their home, I asked if I could cook some Chinese food. My sister-in-law said, “Sure.” Chinese people cook like this: We heat up a wok as hot as it can get it, then we throw in food. It sets off steam and smoke alarms! She said to me, “What are you doing? Trying to burn the house down?” From that day onwards, I can’t cook; she doesn’t allow me to cook anymore! She says, “You just study, sleep, eat and vacuum the floor–that’s it!”

Now I can concentrate on my studies, and vacuuming the floor is easy. I heard about Jesus for the first time at an ISI bible study. God’s Word was planted in my heart. I started going to all of the ISI activities. My heart was touched. I love God’s nature. I love to fish. My classmate invited me to church and I went on Sundays. I was searching for the truth, and I found Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life! I found life!
